Is smoking weed or tobacco a sin?

Hello fellow Christians ✝️ 💕 is it a sin to smoke marijuana? Or tobacco? (Please don’t come on here talking ‘that makes u stupid, or I don’t agree with that, I’m only asking out of curiosity, plus I live in Colorado) does the Bible say anything About smoking tobacco or marijuana?

While I don’t think you will find anything specifically related to marijuana, the Bible makes it clear that we should not engage in anything that can alter our state of mind or diminish our judgement.

I agree with what Sara says. 
But I also think cannabis is an amazing gift when used in proper ways! There are so many benefits that's don't involve getting high. 
There are even certain strains of high CBD that you can smoke and doesn't give you that head high feeling but simply relaxes the body and can ease anxiety. 
I personally use cannabis in topical, edible and oil form to help with body tension, pain and anxiety. 
I don't use it now being in my third trimester of pregnancy but in my first trimester I used small amounts to help my severe morning sickness. 
I trust a plant created by God more than I trust prescription drugs. 
Just like alcohol, I don't see it as a bad thing until it is being abused and used for the wrong reasons.

In other words, your body is not your own. Your body belongs to God, your body is the body of the Holy Spirit. Do not defile your body with anything that isn’t of God. Tattoos, drinking alcohol, smoking, self-harming etc ..even suicide.

Yes. It’s an addiction, and Most addictions would be considered sinful because they consume the user and take precedence over God in their everyday life. The drugs become priority over God.

I don’t know that God was ever that arbitrary with the laws were supposed to follow especially after the resurrection. As far as I know, the commandment we are supposed to keep is honoring the body he gave as a gift. What that means to different people is up for interpretation. For example, it might be a sin for someone who knows they’re severely diabetic to eat a box of Girl Scout cookies because it’s purposely degrading Gods gift, and for others it’s fine and just not wise. 
I’m not sure anyone can tell you for sure. You have to really pray and ask God what He expects of you and not just be persuaded by what’s popular trendy or what you want.

Our bodies are temples. I doubt God would be pleased with something that alters the way he built us. I used to be a heavy weed smoker and I remember how it changed my brain. I forgot things easily, was lazier and it made me feel unlike myself. There isn’t really a healthy amount to smoke because any amount of smoke in your lungs is bad for you.
