Why is it so important to some people for OTHER people to want kids

I was just called selfish for not wanting to have kids? At 23?
how though. If you’re one of those people who agree with that please explain. 
I definitely don’t want kids right now. I don’t have the time nor do I have the money and if I chose to get pregnant right now I would be struggling not only financially but mentally. Kids are a 24/7 JOB, you don’t get breaks and you are entirely responsible for feeding and caring for a human being better than you do for yourself. I want my kids to have a good life. I don’t want them to go without food and basic essentials because I can’t afford it, I wanna start trying at 29-30, which by then I should be way more stable in my career. If I chose not to, who cares? There’s billions of people on this earth so why does it concern you if I dont make more?
Choosing to be a parent is a massive choice. It is life altering. 
Jesus Christ this is just something I don’t understand at all. Why do people push children SO HARD onto others?

Well  I’m glad we waited! We’re 28 with an 11 month old. Waited to have the career, house, cars. Our little guy was the cherry on top of it all. Whatever you chose to do with your life is perfectly okay! It’s your life!

I don’t know.  My stepmom didn’t understand why I didn’t want kids. She would always say I would one day. How I be a good mom. Whatever.  Yes in the end I did want kids and I have my son. For her she always wanted a big family and only had my stepbrother. Than my brother and I as steps kids. Which she would tell people how we where her kids and she did more for us than our mom. Which is bill shit. Hell even after having my son she always ask way I’m going to have more.  Like come on I have him. Hell having him was so hard.  But that is a different thing.  I think it’s great that you say your not ready. Live your life how you want. Anyone else’s thoughts on it doesn’t matter

Tbh I think it would be more selfish of you to have a child when you’re not ready than to wait to have a child when you feel it right and if you never feel like it’s right than that is a valid choice as well. Like you said we already have billions of humans on this earth as it is. Some people want babies super early. Some people have babies early and wished they had waited. Some people do wait and regret it others wait and are glad they did and some don’t have children at all and never regret it. These are all okay. Me and my husband are both in the category of having babies before we were ready. But I do not regret my boys and I couldn’t imagine not being a mom now. They are the light in my life. I have no idea why procreation is such a huge deal to some people and why they have to stick their nose in someone else very PRIVATE business on the topic of fertility and reproduction. All I gotta say is do you and be happy with whatever choice you make. Here are my boys because they are so cute

What’s selfish is when people young and old try to have a kid knowing they can’t afford it and knowing they don’t have the means to care for a child. I’m 20 and I definitely know that I don’t want a kid right now, I’m not going to make my life harder now just so I can stay I have a child.
