When will it get better?

Hey mommas my baby girl is 8 days old today. And every night my husband and I take turns staying up with her (she doesn’t like to sleep unless being held). I honestly miss sleeping next to him now. I’m wondering how you guys spend time with your spouse. I am a new military wife which doesn’t help I don’t have family around so it’s just us. I need some advice on when it’ll get better

We had a similar problem when we first brought our daughter home from the hospital. One of us would be upstairs sleeping while the other was downstairs trying to console or feed the baby and she refused to sleep in her crib. (Come to find out a few days later, my milk hadn’t come in and my baby was just really hungry) After two nights of that, I’d had enough. I ordered a fisher price bassinet on amazon that vibrates and plays music/white noise and some SwaddleMe swaddles. They were totally worth the money! We were at least able to be in the bed together at the same time, even if it was just for an hour at a time before the baby would wake up again. It’ll get a little easier each day. Just hang in there! I also agree with the previous comment: sneak in any little moment you can with each other. Even if it’s just a quick hug or kiss. If you’re first time parents, try to remind yourself that you all are learning this new way of life and that it will just takes some time and nurturing along with some tough days. Good luck mama! ❤️

Awww!! Honestly there's a lot of different things I can suggest but what helped me the most was an in-bed bassinet. It lays in your bed and has little mini walls so you don't have to fear rolling onto your baby. We used to put my son in that and I'd lay my hand on him to help him sleep. 
After she falls asleep have you tried putting her down in her crib? Does she wake up immediately? Keep a hand on her for a few mins and she not fall  back asleep alone.
