Boyfriend in jail.. need advice

Hey guys. I really need some advice. My boyfriend got locked up in July of 2019. He was suppose to be coming home in July of 2020, but the feds picked his case up a couple of days ago. The people that he’s locked up with said he can get up to 30 months.. My question is do we stay together..? We talked about it at visitation yesterday, he said he wants to stay together, but he doesn’t want to feel like I’m putting my life on hold for him. I don’t think us staying together will stop me from living my life. I have about a year until I get my bachelors degree, I’m thinking about going to graduate school to get my masters, and I also want to travel a little bit. I think I can still do all of that and us still be together? I guess my question is what would you do if you were in this situation? And if you’ve been through or are going through that same thing has your boyfriend being in jail put a hold on your life?
