Foot tattoos are more likely to fade, i like the arm one better anyway.

I have tattoos on both of my feet, been almost 10 years for both. Neither have ever faded. Probably helps I'm always barefoot unless I actually leave the house. I also have a shoulder tattoo, that goes over the collar bone. That's much more faded. 
Neither hurt much for me. But I also have a lot of tattoos.

My foot tattoo is SO faded. and I HAVE 10 tattoos and my foot was BY FAR the worst for me pain wise. 
My shoulder one though? Piece of cake! I actually have roses on my right shoulder.

Shoulders don’t hurt so bad. The foot is fucking horrendously painful. I have 17 tattoos all over the place and I’ll never ever ever put another on my foot again. It took him 10 minutes, tops, to put a little tangerine on my foot, and I thought I was gonna die. And I have some huge tattoos all over my body

Shoulder. I have both. Foot SUCKED the most out of all 17 tattoos I have. Foot bar FAR is the worst. And it fades much quicker!

i think the foot tattoo looks really classy and cute but it will hurt like a bitch and fade bad. i have finger, wrist, foot, and rib tattoos which they say hurt the worst (minus skull 😬) and i can tell you the pain is bearable in my opinion. it’s not horrible. here are just certain spots that when you hit them it’s super sensitive. 
so if you can manage the pain just take into account the fading. if that wasn’t a problem i’d go with foot. i don’t really care for the shoulder/arm one at all.
