Is your baby still using the pacifier/dummy?

My daughters 8.5 months and we are still strongly using it, I know you are supposed to wean them at 6 months before they get too attached 🙈

My daughter weaned herself around 4/5 months. She found her thumb and sucks her thumb, but only when she’s falling asleep. I had planned to take the paci at 6 months anyways, just like I did with my son.

My daughter quit using hers at 3 months lol idk why! I’m sure it’s fine. I know a lot of babies who used them till 2. Lol and stopped a few months after.

Yes, she’s so attached. She has so many because she’ll lose some and then they’ll reappear out of nowhere lol. I’ve tried making her go to sleep without it, but she won’t. She has to have it.😩 I even have tried to get her attached to a lovey or the elephant from her wubbanub and she’d rather have her pacifier. She puts it in her mouth herself and I keep some around the pack n play to find in the middle of the night. But she’ll still wake up or be restless trying to find her pacifier in the middle of the night. I wish she was never given one!😩 she has to have it all the time lol. I can tell when she’s tired though because she’ll want her pacifier or put it in her mouth and lay down.

I’ve never heard that you’re supposed to wean them off at 6 months... 🤔 My daughter still uses it and I don’t plan on weaning her off right now. At my preschool there were kids 2.5 years and just started weaning off. They’re not even 1 yet so whatever comforts them is whatever comforts them 😁I plan on weaning her before she’s 2 because it does cause some kids teeth to grow crooked.

My nephew on my husband’s side is 5 and still uses one. One day his mother stole it and said she mailed it to us (baby Madison) but he had another so he was fine. Then his mother took that one too 😂 He woke up and cried saying baby Madison stole it. After that day, he never asked for another one. Seems like cold turkey doesn’t hurt when you need to!

Yep. Almost 9 months old and not sure how I feel about it. I saw Frida Baby has a paci weaning system 🤔. He only uses it to fall asleep but sometimes in the middle of the night he’ll freak out and want someone to put it back in his mouth if he wakes. He isn’t too keen about finding it himself and putting it back in even though he can.

My daughter still uses her soothie, mostly to sleep. She reaches for it at night and once she falls asleep she spits it out. Idk, I'd like to be rid of it before she turns 1.
