Something stupid with paint 😓
My husband and I recently bought a new house and we’ll be moving in this coming weekend. On Saturday, my husband and in-laws pained a few downstairs rooms in the new house for us - I didn’t help because we understood it would be dangerous for me to be around the paint fumes.
The next day (Sunday), the paint was dry and so I went to the house to get some things organized. My family was also there again to finish painting some trim work. I didn’t stay in the rooms where they were painting the trim, and the windows were open in the rooms where they were painting in.
After a few hours though, I started to get a headache and feel dizzy, and then I realized maybe the fumes were getting to me even if I couldn’t smell them. We are using Behr - which is a low VOC paint, meaning low in chemical emissions. But I have been reading a lot about it now, and I probably should have waited a few more days to go back in the house once the paint was completely finished and dry.
Now of course I’m worried I hurt my baby, especially since I am only 9 weeks and still in the first trimester. Does anyone have any advice, or experience being around paint fumes and still having a healthy baby? Again, I didn’t paint myself, but I was in a newly painted house with people still painting in it.
