I cant possibly imagine my mom dictating how I live my relationship if I was 22. I'm 21 now and we live together and have our own home together. I'm all for respecting somebody's house rules, but her staying at her boyfriends house should have absolutely no correlation to that. That's on controlling parents 🤦‍♀️

Yes, I feel it’s completely ok. I truly don’t understand why it wouldn’t/shouldn’t be ok & why some parents feel the need to place such rules & restrictions on their adult children simply because they live with them. Just because u still live with ur parents (for whatever reasons), that doesn’t negate the fact that ur an adult & deserve to still live the life of one. 🤷‍♀️

I think that it is fine with in reason. Coming and going as if they’re at a hotel when they please with out communication is rude 🤷🏻‍♀️ I think they should be like hey such and such night I won’t be home. Or hey tonight I won’t be home so don’t worry. I think it’s a common respect thing and adults being able to communicate. God for bid something happens and they just assume eh she’s at her bf house or they wait up worrying all night just to find out you stayed at your bf house

Yes I think it's okay. To a point I understand the whole "you live under their house, so follow their rules" but seriously your 22. Would a 30 year old women/man also have to say no to a date night/sleepover if they still lived with their parents? 🤔 seems kinda ridiculous to me.

This was more the reason why I moved out at 23. I went away to college, so there were no rules on this, and trust me, sleep overs are norm in college. Then to come home and have curfews and such, nope. Looking back financially I should have waited but I didn’t want the third degree from my parents or I would feel the need to lie. Not good for me or my parents.

When I lived at home for a bit in college, we treated it more as a roommate situation and I would let my parents know if I wouldn’t be home that evening or vice versa as a courtesy. It also helped figure out who would feed and walk the dogs that night or next morning. That was what worked for us, but every family is different.

It depends if the person is a responsible adult or still acts like a child. Will they get up in time and go to work. Will they make it school. Will they do any homework and studying at the boyfriends house. At 22 they should be able to do what they want but they also shouldn’t still be living at home with mom and dad if they want all the freedom of an adult.
