Group B strep positive

Just told my swab came back positive for group b strep. I’ll be administered extra antibiotics during delivery.

I’m 38 weeks tomorrow and scheduled for a CS March4th. Does the risk of passing it to baby decrease w a CS? I heard the antibiotics are less effective if not administered at least 4 hours before delivery?

Had a previous emergency CS in may 2012 with my daughter but was negative for strep B with that pregnancy.

Has anyone else had a similar story? Feeling anxious about what this could mean for my baby boy and I 😟
