Breastfeeding mamas.. are you planning on introducing cows milk?

I won’t be weaning my 11 mo any time soon, I’d like her to self wean and I’m fine with her nursing into her toddler years. But I wonder if I should also give her cows milk. She eats lots of cheese and dairy. Wondering what everyone else is doing!

nope! breastmilk is more than enough :) we wont ever be introducing cows milk. just water is fine

I don't think I will at this point.  My son still nurses like crazy and gets dairy from other sources 🤷‍♀️

I was debating introducing cow milk and then I thought....why? I give my LO plenty of dairy so she doesn’t really need a whole bottle of cow milk. I’m starting to wean her off breastmilk now but am just giving more water. I already cut out her daytime nursing sessions. So she now only nurses when she wakes up and before she goes down for the night.

I breastfeed and I’ve been giving her cheese quesadilla and milk in smoothies and yogurt. But at her 1 year birthday I’m going to slowly stop pumping at work and keep sending the frozen milk to daycare and just feed her from breast morning and night and then eventually wean from evening feed then morning feed. Prob will give cows milk when I’m home with her on the weekends in replace of mid morning and mid afternoon. Not sure I figured I’d discuss my plan with my ped at her appointment. Part of me wants to keep breast feeding but then I’m also ready to have a little space back before we start trying for baby #2 again.

I don’t plan on it at this time. Milk helps to transition from a mostly liquid diet to solid diet and giving babies easy and quick calories. I plan to just continue with 3 or 4 nursing sessions a day to replace that. I will use yogurt and cheese for calcium and continue to supplement with vitamin d that whole milk is usually fortified with.

I’m starting to worry about this bc the busier my son gets, the shorter his nursing sessions are becoming. He has a dairy allergy so it won’t be cows milk but might have to start offering pea protein milk before too long. Nervous bc he really doesn’t have a grasp on his cup yet. He likes water and using the cup but isn’t good at it at this point.
