Why are so many white people commenting in threads directed at BIPOC?

Such as “is this cultural appropriation” “is this racist” questions. Why are white people speaking on behalf of BIPOC? Regardless of whether you think it is or isn’t, it isn’t your place to speak up.

I don't speak up because i agree with you. It's my job as a white woman to stand behind you and support my fellow woman but not speak for her. To shout hurray for her strength and supplement that in times of need. 
I feel like white women do have good intent but some still don't completely understand the battle.  Hell, i will never completely understand but i do know the best thing for you is for me to not be your voice but to be your microphone. To make you louder but never spoken over.

As for the "is this racist?" Questions I want to know why you think they can't?

I feel like maybe alot of people don't understand that this is not ok. 
I don't think it comes from a bad place for most white people. It's more a place of uneducatuon on the matter. 
Personally I feel as a white woman, my place is to stand with yet not speak for anyone. To support when needed. I think that's all I can do. 
Sometimes I feel ashamed to be white, and I'm often ashamed of my race and their behaviour and that makes me sad.
I am proud to be Irish though. We are a fairly cool, accepting people and I like that x

I'd like to know too. It is very annoying. Sometimes I am curious and read discussions that have absolutely nothing to do with me but I never chime in with my unwarranted and unwanted 2 cents! Lol.

I mean, it’s not just white people. I’m Chinese and usually comment on topics such as racism and cultural appropriation because it’s something that I experience despite not being BIPOC.
