Calling all teachers!!!

Hey there fellow teachers and glow members. I’ve been teaching at a school for almost 2 months now and I’ve really enjoyed it. The school isn’t necessarily academic, so I really have to push students to do their work and try building rapport with them. I think I have pretty good rapport building skills. I’m a very empathetic and kind person, some of my students would say too soft.

But there is this one student in year 8. I don’t know why, but I know he hates me. He always talks back to me very rudely, utters things about me and just says very rude remarks to me. Today I almost cried because of how rude he was towards me. I’ve never singled him out or just put blame on him. I spoke to another teacher and she suggested that the 3 of us have a meeting to lay it all on the table. Does any one else have any advice on what to do? I’m honestly so upset about it and haven’t stopped thinking about how disrespectful he is to me. Any words of advice or just support would be great. 🥺 x
