this girl has no job and expects to get famous on the internet and i’m annoyed hearing everyday how she wants to get famous. okay so go do it and shut up. like i told her if she wants to do youtube then actually do it and she said “i feel ugly i wanna get my nails and hair done” so i say okay get a job for a few months so you can do that get some new clothes and feel cute and make a video, but she’s just fucking lazy. today she texts me with this.

I get that you’re being realistic, but at the same time you’re being kind of harsh about it imo.

I had a friend exactly like this who was hellbent on moving to LA and getting on a tv show. I tried being realistic with her that the chances of that happening are very slim. But she seemed dedicated so I pushed her to follow her dream. It’s been 10 years, she’s still not dropping it. She dropped out of college because she got a “modeling gig” and thought she was gonna make it big (this modeling gig was posing naked for free in some dudes garage for his “portfolio” 🙄) she started becoming more and more delusional and obsessed with this dream and were no longer friends. She’s now 30 and while she did make it to LA, she’s a waitress at Denny’s living with like 5 other people. You’re not being a bad friend. You’re being realistic. It is really hard maintaining a friendship with people like that though.
