Gift ideas for in laws?

My in-laws have helped us with the down-payment por our new house, without them we wouldn't have made it. We have obviously expressed our gratitude but I would like to send them a thank you card and get them a little thank you gift. But I have zero ideas. Obviously they can buy "anything" they want, so it feels like whatever I might get them will never be enough. But still... What would be some good ideas?

Have them over in your new house! Cook them a meal. Host a holiday. They would probably love that.

My parents in law are similar; they definitely have the money to do whatever they wanna do, they don't need gifts from me (and every Christmas say no gifts but we usually do something small anyway). Being in that position a handwritten heartfelt card is awesome, and if you want an item I usually go with something kinda quirky for them as a couple (art/street fair things or one year we got a really cool wine bottle stopper that the top was a geode), or seperately a book I enjoyed (we read a lot of the same stuff) for my MIL and a bottle of red wine and some candy for my FIL. It doesn't have to be big, just show you put some thought into it.
