Crib, bassinet, or both?

Question

I'm asking because I'm currently building my registry. I know I will need a crib eventually and want to get a bassinet regardless, but was wondering if I should hold off on the crib or just go ahead and add it anyway since I'll need it after a while. (I'm relying a lot on family and friends for the big purchases at the moment.) And if you could comment with your reasonings/experience that would be really helpful!

I put everything I could think of on my registry so that I can use the completion discount at the end. You could also just use the bassinet of your pack and play if you’re getting one. 
I hit up mom to mom sales for some bigger item purchases-high chair, pack and play, bassinet, bouncer, jumperoo.

I would say in terms of need, just the bassinet is fine for now. My son is sleeping in his crib for the very first time tonight; he outgrew his bassinet (we made a big baby) and he’s almost 12 weeks old, so you have plenty of time. The average baby can last in a bassinet a bit longer than my long, chunky little dude can haha. :)
Don’t hesitate to put a crib, mattress, protector/encasement, and 3 fitted sheets on your registry if you’re making one, though. Five of my husband’s family members chipped in to buy the crib and everything for it. We had a few big items that multiple people went in together to get for us.

My daughter didn’t use her crib until 11months, but that’s because her room is upstairs and I was nervous lol next baby is going in the crib asap! She slept amazing from night 1 in her crib and room without any distractions. I used a mini pack and play (had a bassinet on the top for when she was newborn).
