boy advice needed

okay so like basically i like this guy right. and my friend told me that he isn’t sure if he likes me or not he thinks he has a crush on my but doesn’t know. and over the summer we almost started dating but lost touch towards the end. and like he calls me beautiful all the time (i’ll show screen shots later) but if we were in a conversation and i ask a question he never responds i’m confused what do i do to make him talk to me and why doesn’t he respond? (this is an example of when he doesn’t respond)
