How do you know you’re ready for a second child?

I’m a FTM and my son is 6 months. Some days I feel like I’d love to give him a sibling but other days I feel like I could never manage having two children. I’m 32 so I don’t have the luxury of spacing far apart in age (if I did have another I’d want to be done by 35). Thinking about having a second child stresses me out so much that it gave me a panic attack the other day.

If the thought of it gives you panic attacks, I dont think you're ready. We'd like to start trying g for #2 when baby is around 18 months, there's no rush!!

My advice would be to give yourself some time to adjust to one before racing ahead to number 2 especially if the thought of it gives you a panic attack! 6 months in is still pretty early days so take some pressure of yourself and enjoy the baby you have you'll know when you're ready because the thought of it will excite you not scare you.

Maybe wait until your baby is a year old so you have more time to think it over while enjoying all of the first that your first born baby is learning and growing
