Is hating someone just because of their religion just as bad as hating someone for their race

I'm not saying all non religious people are haters but there's a quite a few non religious people who hated me just because I was christan and have a relationship with Jesus. To me if your hating some because they are Christan Muslim Hindu Buddhist ect. That's almost just as bad has hating someone for the color of their skin! We're in 2015 almost 2016 and it's sad people look down on anyone just because their a certain way. FYI if your commenting no bashing people's beliefs!!!!
