God parents.

So my SO and I were talking about God parents, as I'm pregnant with our first together but second child for both of us. I said I didnt see the point, as we arent Catholic. He said his oldest daughter has a godfather, but my SO and this man rarely talk. So I asked him, "if something were to happen to you would you still want "A" to go to him? Would he be your first choice or would you choose someone else?" He said he would still choose this man he barely talks to. I dont think he realized it, but it really upset me. I'm pregnant with her sibling, and I love her very much. I already do everything I can to make sure she has what she needs, I even drive 8+ hours for them to spend time together, yet I'm not good enough to take care of her if something were to happen..? Like I get it's just hypothetical and more than likely things will never happen that way (I pray they dont, and that him and I are old and gray before we pass), but it hurts to know that I wouldnt be his first choice to raise her..
