How to plan a flight ?

Okay , I’ve been on flights when I was younger ! But I never actually booked one for myself. I’m booking one for me & my man April27-May3rd. Im telling him I’m only paying for the flight & that’s it . And everything else, We are paying together/Separate. I’m young . I don’t have that much money but I can save & work something out. I’m coming from Detroit Michigan & going too Miami FL. How do I plan ? What should I plan ? I already looked up the flights. It’s $269.60 Total. Is that including our bags ? I want everything to be perfect & no mess ups and if anything pay less money . When we get too Miami . Should we Rent a Car ? Or Taxi/Uber everywhere? Would it be better if we drive down there? Anybody know some cheap Decent Hotels down there ? How much money would I be paying just too get Down there & get a hotel too stay. Should I make the trip 3 days instead? Please help ? Anything is helpful , any coupons or codes would be great . Any cheaper websites would be awesome, anything useful
