Is this weird?

Sooooo I’ve been thinking of baby names for my baby we don’t know what we’re having yet. I was making a list f boy and girl names my girl list is long because for some reason everyone thinks it’s going to be a girl but I have been trying to think of boy names too. So my Bf has kids and one of them is named Kevin Alfonso. Alfonso is my Bf’s name. Now is it weird if I name my son Alfonso (as his first name) even though his half brother has it as his middle name ? 🧐🧐🤔🤔🤔

I don't think so, especially if that is the baby's father's name!

Like another poster mentioned, it could foster feelings of rejection and being replaced as a child of the "old" girlfriend or wife and your child could be the target of those feelings. I understand it's your bfs name, and ultimately up to you but as a child of the "second family" I really wouldn't feel comfortable with that myself.

No I don't think it's weird. I'm not a fan of children named after their parents but I still don't think it's strange.

My half sister has half my first name (Mary), I hate my dad for it (though he did other crap to be hated too).
