Cheating or not?

Would you consider it cheating if your bf asked you not to talk to someone but you're only strictly  friends with that person and continue to talk to them without your SO knowing?

He likes to be controlling.

Lying is just as bad. If you feel like you need to hide it from your significant other, than you probably shouldn't be doing it. Also, I've just always found that talking to the opposite sex often, especially at the request not to by the person you are with, it turns sour. Someone catches feelings, always. Its just how it works.

No. My dh has no say in who I do and don't talk to. Unless I have a problem with someone I'll talk to who I want. That's not cheating, that's called being your own person and having your own life. Unless your really cheating on your bf with this person they shouldn't be a problem and if they are your bf is the one who has the issue and needs to deal with it personally and not make you ignore someone for them.

I wouldn't consider it cheating but it is being deceitful ... But why doesn't he want y'all to be friends? You should be able to have friends and there should be trust in a relationship

I had the same issues in my past relationship he would say it's me or your friends I could never understand why I couldn't have a life of my own or why he was so insecure.. Felt really controlling I did the same thing because I didn't want anyone telling me what to do he wasn't my dad. They are my friends for a reason cause that's what it strictly was

Hiding it to me is a form of cheating. Although I would never ever be with anyone that controlling, it's my life. Been there done that it ended badly.

For me it would depend on the reason he doesn't want me talking to them. If it was because we had history or he had a thing for me then ok but if he was just trying to control me I wouldn't consider it cheating I would consider it not allowing myself to be controlled by someone. I get relationships are compromise but control for the sake of control isn't cool.
