Current argument in my city.

In KCMO, we are all really stoked that the Royals just won the World Series for the first time in 30 years. Tomorrow there will be a big parade, so school's been officially cancelled (after public demand) for KC, NKC, and the surrounding districts. I think it's great. Others are upset about it. I don't have school age kids, though. If this was your city/town, what would you think? The arguments against it go something like this:
