Coronavirus-Community Support

Mi

Hey ladies!

I just wanted to take a moment and recommend an app called Next Door. It’s basically social media for your specific neighborhood and surrounding community. If you feel safe and trust your neighbors, I recommend downloading this app. Usually, it offers things such as childcare/babysitters, connecting with other moms and families, posts if you have a lost pet, if you’re selling something, and any notifications of local events, activities, school announcements, etc. pretty much anything you can imagine.

But currently, in this time of crisis and uncertainty, I’m noticing a lot of very nice people offering their assistance. People are offering to go grocery shopping for the elderly or people who can’t go outside otherwise, childcare arrangements for those who still have work but their children’s schools are cancelled, meal delivery, and even sharing of personal supplies. I just delivered some baby wipes to a mother of two a few blocks down the street, because she couldn’t find any and went to multiple stores all over town. So I was able to help her. I also saw someone offering to donate their breast milk to mothers in need, and another family giving a pack of toilet paper to someone down the street. I even saw a truck driver post on the app, announcing the exact time he would be arriving at the local Walmart down the street, with tons of supplies, so people would know the items are available before it’s too late and it runs out again.

Super helpful! Let’s be generous and kind to our neighbors and community.
