Genetic testing?

I’m torn if I want to do the testing or not. For one, I feel like this baby is a blessing and whatever god decides to send us I will be grateful...but then what if there’s something wrong with my baby and because I said no then what if it doesn’t get the treatments it needs(if that’s even a thing while pregnant) or does anyone know if Dr.s really don’t treat the pregnancy any different? Just a thought?...

From what I understand is most genetic testing won't show anything later appointments won't show. And they have a lot of false positives. It told my mom my older brother had down syndrome and he very much does not and I've heard a lot of other stories too.
My doctor phrased it to me like this: If you found out that your baby would have a disability would it change anything in how you behave right now? (Basically will you terminate) If the answer is no then you will get answers at your 20 week scan. If the answer is yes then do it and terminate if that suits you.

I don't get testing done. If anything shows up on a scan they will inform you and treat the baby/give you option to terminate if it's something bad. They don't treat your pregnancy any different to someone who had genetic testing though.

I didn’t do genetic testing either pregnancy. It has a lot of false positives and I just didn’t want to deal with that. Abnormalities can be picked up during the anatomy scan and if they’re missed and I don’t know until birth it wouldn’t change anything. I’m still gonna love my baby no matter what. I’d rather not stress unnecessarily for a test that isn’t even that accurate anyway. Docs don’t treat you any different if you choose not to do it

I did all the genetic testing available. I am fortunate and everything came back great. 
But it's good for two reasons, first so you have a choice on whether you want to continue with the pregnancy if somethingis wrong. And second if something is wrong and you do continue you can be prepared better for the birth. A lot of those chromosomal issues (if the baby even makes it to birth) require medical care ASAP. it's better to have a team prepared for this. 
But if something does pop up as an issue with the baby you automatically become high risk and get more care.

I’ve denied it all three times. I’d rather not stress the whole pregnancy for the possibility of something that may even come out false. And it wouldn’t change my mind either way if there was something wrong. Blessed to be one who can have babies and I’d love them either way.
