Brown to dark red spotting

Hi Ladies,

So I found out today that I’m 5w5d and I’ve had some spotting. It’s not on my undies it’s only when I wipe, it goes from brown to like a darkish red then back to brown. It’s not consistent and I don’t have severe cramping, I still have symptoms my boobs hurt and I’m nauseous as hell. I had a miscarriage last year and I’m worried history is repeating itself. Doc said it could be old blood or my cervix is irritated because I had sex a couple days ago. Any advice or similar situation? Please 😞
