Liking a friend??

So me and a friend of mine have recently confessed that we liked each other but he can be confusing at times. He says he’s liked me for awhile but didn’t say anything since I had a boyfriend but now that I’ve been single we’ve been a little flirty. I just don’t know where we stand or if he wants to date or anything. He’s still nice and flirty and compliments me, I just don’t know what to do or how to ask what’s going on between us.
