Do i test to see if my baby's swing works?

Do i test to see if my baby's swing works properly before baby comes even though its not for awhile? I have insurance on it for 2 years but i recieved it from target on march 12th so i dont know whether to test it early because return policy which i dont know how long it is or wait since i have 2 year insurance. Ive only just entered my 2nd trimester but it was on sale and me and my husband couldn't pass up buying it. Obviously we want this pregnancy to work out but we both agreed if something were to happen as it has for lots of people; we would still keep it for the future so we wont be returning it if it indeed works. Baby's due sep 27th.
