Vaccines for newborn?

My baby is due for his 1 months shots. With the virus going around I’m not sure I want to take my unvaccinated healthy newborn into a clinic with all these sick kiddos around. I’m calling his pediatrician tomorrow but idk if I’m just being a crazy momma or if anyone agrees it’s best to wait till this calms a bit? We’re in texas and our area has just gotten confirmed cases this weekend, about 7 cases in 3 days!

I still took my kids to get their vaccines. I was told not to delay them 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I’m really not paranoid person or worried about this. Just washed our hands/used sanitizer after touching stuff

Call them and see what they suggest. Chances are they have tought of sitution like that and have a plan of operation. For example, my hospital has two separate entrances for for suspected sick people and other procedures. And... They have cancelled all procedures that are not absolutely nessecary at that time. So, there are not many people there. Your baby might need booster shots that are relevantne to do on time. If time line is missed, then they have to start all over. So call and they will tell you what to do.

I thought most places weren’t doing checkups or non important visits, so you’re good to skip if you want and they still are.

I don’t think you’re wrong for being concerned. I would definitely call the pediatrician and see what they say. Maybe they have an alternate entrance or something or have done away with walk in hours do only certain appointments can go in.

Call and ask. My pediatrician is doing well visits before lunch then sick visits after lunch, exclusively, so healthy kids aren’t around sick kids and they have time to clean thoroughly after sick kids are done.

I would do it now before things get much worse by you. Handwash, sanitize, wear masks. Call your dr ahead of time and see what procedures they have in place to safeguard newborns.
