Thick diapers

Hello everyone. I’ve been cloth diapering for a day or two. My friend gave me about 10 to let me try it out and I’m really liking it. The only drawback is that they are sooo thick! It looks weird under my daughter clothes and her little jeans don’t fit over the diapers. Am I doing something wrong or are all cloth diapers way thicker than disposable? My daughter is 10 months old if it matters.

It's true. Cloth diapers are definitely super bulky. Your not doing it wrong! On the plus side there's extra padding for when they fall!

Cloth diapers are just chonky! I have to size up on pants or get cloth diaper pants to fit over his fluffybutt.

They are definitely thicker than disposables. There are a couple things that are slimmer. Not sure what you’re using- flats are probably the slimmest and easiest to wash out. Takes a little to get used to but I really like them!

There are quite a few different kinds.. here is a picture I found online with a few of them depicted. The flats are a diaper cover with one large piece of fabric that you fold into the right size for your baby. YouTube has a ton of ways to fold them.

Thanks! I didn’t think about getting boys pants. It’s only been a day and a half so I’m not really sure what type I’m using either lol. She gave me a few different styles but the ones I like the most are the all cloth diapers with the plastic covers. I’m not sure what those are called

Also- I found that boys clothing is roomier so I would buy some pants for my daughter that were technically boys. Couldn’t really tell. Or dresses. Love seeing the adorable patterns under the dresses!

Great advice! I haven’t tried pockets myself but I hear they’re really nice to have. Might need to double stuff them? But then it wouldn’t be as trim right? Lol. 🤷🏻‍♀️

You get used to it and it becomes the new normal. Also it becomes cute and you miss it when they have a disposable on! I did have to size up sometimes on pants though. Worth getting used to it, I love cloth diapering!
