Tonsillitis and HSV correlation?

I take Valtrex daily bc I used to get breakouts monthly. It’s been about a year since my last outbreak but now I have tonsillitis. I looked it up and there was a possibility that HSV could be the reason why people are more prone to it... what do you think?

I’m not a doctor so take this with a grain of salt... when I have an outbreak my tonsils and throat get red and inflamed. I personally have not gotten sores in my genital area or face but based on my blood test and the simultaneous aches and soreness that’s what an outbreak looks like for me.

Whoaaa, I got my tonsils out last year because I got Strep Throat like 4-6 times a year. After the first couple times I just self-diagnosed the strep. But now I’m wondering if it was always just related to HSV. I rarely (never) get outbreaks, and the 2 or 3 I’ve had in almost 6 years have been so mild that I’m not even sure if they’re just an ingrown hair or an ulcer. Maybe that whole time, the symptoms were showing in my throat? Never considered this before!
