Explaining Corona to Littles - Help!

Help, help, help!

Our neighbors, husband, and I made the tough decision tonight that the kids can’t “play” together - drive their PowerWheels at the same time in each other’s yards - until all the distancing settles down (she works in a hospital, he’s still working, their kids are going back to daycare 2 days a week, and my husband is also considered essential).

We’ve already pulled him from daycare over a week ago and he misses all of his friends, and now we are taking away his friends across the street - he will see them out the window and beg to go out to play with them to the point of tears and/or meltdowns. Our other kiddo is only 5 months old, so he doesn’t really have a playmate anymore. He’s such a sensitive soul, and we obviously don’t want to scare him or scar him for life. I know he can handle more than I may give him credit for, but at the same time, he’s only 3!

What are you telling your kiddos?

Ugh. Parenting in quarantine is so hard and heartbreaking. I hate it. Go away germs!
