Bacterial vaginosis

A year ago this month me and my boyfriend had sex for the first time unprotected and I got BV. I don’t think I’ve tackled the infection hard enough because I’ll use boric acid for a few days and then stop it. It worries me using medicine like this for a long period of time! right now I am using boric acid for 21 days (as my dr told me to do) so I’m hoping this will target it. It always seems like the infection is gone unless he cums in me. I always get a fishy smell the next day and my discharge hasn’t been the same since i got BV. What can I do to help this? This is making me so depressed. I want to have kids in the near future and I’m so worried that this is going to interfere with that since we can’t even have unprotected sex without the infection striking again. Will using boric acid after sex interfere with his sperm? I need some encouragement😓
