Have you adopted a child?

My husband and I have a 4 year old & have been discussing for awhile the possibility of fostering and/or adopting a child. We are open to many different ages but don’t know where to start or if it’s extremely expensive. My grandma adopted my mother & aunts and uncles from Korea and I love how it gave all of them a new chance at life. Any stories or advice appreciated

Well it depends if you want to spend money doing it with an adoption agency, or if you want to get children through the foster care system. 
I only have knowledge about how the foster care adoption process works: in most (it not all?) states, you don’t have to pay anything, in fact they five you a stipend. But it’s emotionally more challenging through foster care because some children who you foster may go back to their bio parents (after you’ve had them for a while and grown an attachment to them). Many of the children in the foster care system have emotional/behavioral issues as well from the abuse/neglect they’ve been through. But these kids are in such dire need of a loving, stable home that if you’ve got it in you then I’d definitely consider going this route.

I’ve always been curious about the cost of this. So far I’m unable to conceive and my mother in law is adopted so we’ve definitely considered it.
It kind of breaks my heart when I hear of people spending so many thousands of dollars on fertility treatments (my cousin just hit 42k in treatments) just to have matching DNA with their baby. Their are many of children waiting for a home. 
If we don’t conceive from the most minimalistic treatments/medications, adoption it is.
I hope someone comments with some really good advice ❤️

I haven’t but would love to one day. It is pretty pricey, however I think it’s worth it if you’re really serious

My ex boyfriends parents adopted a girl after having two boys. They weren’t going to risk another boy. 😂

I have not but I have this strong feeling that adopting is just something that will just happen once I am financial stable. I want to have children of my own and adopt. I commend you on choice.

My boyfriend and I agreed that when we are ready to have children we want one of our own and one adopted. ￼￼❤️
