Should I keep taking prenatal vitamins?

Google says they only have an affect and should be taken in the first semester. I haven’t seen my midwife since, and stopped taking them about half way through the second trimester - but I’ve noticed all these moms on YouTube still taking them... is it just like an extra precaution to keep taking them after the first trimester?

Update: so I did some further research and discovered it is really just personal preference. It’s an added bonus but not necessary, your blood/health/doctor tells you if you’re lacking something. If I didn’t feel well I’d probably try taking them, but since I’m perfectly fine I think it’s fine and worth saving the money.
