Socially distancing -MIL vent

We rarely see my mother in law. She always has some excuse why she can’t see the kids (4yr and 8.5m) or why can’t help out with watching them, but has no problem watching her grandsons for her daughter.

She’ll go almost 2 weeks before she even texts to ask about them. I use to send pictures all the time but stopped bc she doesn’t make an effort.

Anyway so she sends a text yesterday asking if she can take our 4yr old on Saturday so she can get out of the house. I told her that We were taking the social distancing seriously bc my husband is an essential employee and her daughter (whose kids she watches regularly) works in a hospital. I told her that we can’t risk is with our son having respiratory problems as it is.

She called me up saying are you serious your going to to keep me from my grandchildren. This isn’t fair. You can do this. Let me talk to my son he’ll tell you I can see them.

My husband agrees with me. And told her so. I just think it’s crazy that she thinks she has rights to my children and their health.

That’s all sorry I have no one else to vent too lol and know there is probably someone else who understands.

- it drives me crazy when she calls refers to my kids as “my baby” hmm my son is 8m and you have seen him a handful of times since he was born. Bc she’s always too busy with her daughters.
