He broke up with me!

So me and my best friend’s brother clicked off in late 2017 but he was immature since he is 2 years younger than me. I stopped talking to him like that but then became normal friends a couple of months later since his brother is my bestfriend!

December 2019 we started to flirt (he did first). I said I’ll give him another chance and started going out until recently. We would have small fights about his attitude for 3 months but I said I’ll stick with him he’s getting better. March 29th he breaks up with me sends me a paragraph saying I have anxiety and I love you and care about you as a bestfriend.

I’m just so confused like was he just playing around? Like after I give him a chance he breaks with me!! After I really start to grow closer to him!! He wants us to be friends still because he says I helped him a lot and he wants to be there for me(?)

I don’t know what to do now.
