Do you agree with the saying “don’t be a wife to a boyfriend”

So people say this a lot I’ve noticed mainly online though.. Do you agree with this and why or why not? What does it even mean to act like a “wife” to a boyfriend and why is it not ok to do in your opinion if you say you agree?

Yeah I kinda agree. 
This is why so many women feel screwed over when their boyfriend breaks up with them. Because they had children, opened a bank account together, financed a car in their name, bought a house together. It’s because they were pretending their boyfriend was already a husband. 
Of course this doesn’t apply to people who don’t believe in marriage. Buy cars and houses with as many boyfriends as you want to 🤷🏽‍♀️

I think it’s a dumb saying. It means don’t help cook, keep the house, etc unless you’re married, because then the guy won’t have an incentive to marry you. It also implies that unmarried couples can’t be as committed or serious as married couples, like there’s relationship “levels”.

I’ve never heard this. For me, “wifely duties” aren’t cooking and cleaning and being there whenever he wants to get laid. My “wifely duty” is to be his partner. To be by his side and experience this life together. It’s to make him as happy as he makes me. I don’t see why this can’t be applied to a boyfriend. 🤷🏼‍♀️ will every boyfriend you have show you the same respect? Maybe not, but the right one will.

I agree to an extent. For me I wouldn’t have kid (on purpose), join finances, or make big financial decisions with someone who wasn’t my husband. But other aspects like taking care of each other or giving each other your all (except examples listed above) are part of a relationship regardless of marriage. This is just for my relationship. Other people are to do what they please.

For myself I agree. I didn’t wanna buy a house, have my mans kids etc without being married first and having those legal ties and security. We are also religious so we were just big in getting married and both of us really wanted that. To us it was the ultimate commitment to eachother. I think everyone should do what works for them whether that’s getting married or not it’s nobody else’s choice or business
