Small babies

Anybody had babies not growing properly and gotten induced. I'm 35 weeks now and was just told they want to induce me at 37 weeks, he's in the in the 12th percentile and his growth rate has been slowing essentially so they don't see it getting better. He's four lbs now, if anyone has had a similar experience did you have a normal birth, was baby sent home fairly quickly and okay etc?
