Caught shoplifting at Kohls?

I have a clean record. Tonight, I guess I felt on top of the world because I tried stealing from Kohls. I feel awful.

I ended up taking $255 of stuff. After I was caught, the employee there said I'll get a letter in the mail that I'll need to respond to and then I'll pay for the things I took. She didn't call cops or anything.

What's going to happen? Will I need to go to court? Once I respond and pay, is this all over with?
