Did you feel regret?

Question

I️ just had a surgical abortion done yesterday. I️ thought I️ was 10 weeks but I️ was measuring at 11. I️ cried all day yesterday and most of today.. I️ know it was the right thing to do but I️ just feel so guilty and I️ kind of regret doing it. Does anybody else feel like this?

I do. Not that I did it so much that when I got pregnant, I wasn't in a stable relationship or stable financial situation. I also regretted the fact that I got pregnant in the first place, and mad that I was stupid enough to let it happen. What I felt most was shame, shame for my stupidity and what people would think if I told them. Despite that, despite the protesters that told me I was making a mistake, I know it was the right decision for me. It's hard, and having an abortion doesn't make you a monster or a bad person, it makes you a person who made a choice that was ultimately the best for you, and it's okay to do that. In the end of it, embryos are a clump of cells. Really cool science, but a beating heart doesn't equal a human soul, it's just a muscle. I like to think that my abortion was an act of love for myself, and for my hypothetical child. I knew I wouldn't be able to give it a life, and I knew it wasn't something I was stable enough for, so I ended the possibility for a life full of struggle ans heartache for the both of us. If you're feeling down, just remember you have a ton of people supporting you, and who have shared similar experiences. I believe in your strength and your choices. Stay safe and take care of yourself ♡

I felt that way for a couple months. It was weird. One day I would be fine & feel secure in my decision and other days(most days in the beginning) I'd feel super guilty. 
I still feel guilty now(almost 11 months since), but not at the same degree. Everyone is different. My guilt stems from the fact that I wasn't ready to have my baby. I wouldve had to drop out of school & my mental state was already weak. 
I suggest you use your experience as a driving force for accomplishing your goals. The pain will always be there, so there is no use in trying to get rid of it. This was the best decision for you, so hold on to that.
