Her birthday is this Saturday! I’m super excited to be able to have a little party at home for her because of the covid situation, but I need some advice. Her birth mother has not seen her in person since February 25th. She is not at all involved in her daughter’s life, and only keeps her for 3-5 hours at a time, which is usually once every two months when she makes the time. She wants to come to my home and see her for her birthday, which I completely understand because I would want the same, but I’m conflicted because of the covid situation. My stepdaughter has been at home, quarantined with me and her dad, for the past three weeks. She hasn’t gone out into the world, and we have taken every precaution to keep her safe.

Is it wrong to expect her birth mother to skip seeing her because of the pandemic?
