Are these baby nests safe?

Please comment if you have one or have used one. What was your experience? What’s the purpose?? I see them everywhere but no research on them.... if you are against them, explain your reasoning.

Yes but not for unsupervised sleep

I could be wrong, but it looks too soft at the edges for a newborn. Easy to suffocate in. I wouldn’t be comfortable using it unless I was there and aware.

If you are supervising the baby while sleeping then it’s okay. But for night time, it considered unsafe. It can be a suffocation hazard. The AAP has so many guidelines for safe sleep. If you have Facebook there is a group called Safe Infant Sleep - Evidence based support group. It shows all the guidelines for literally everything

If you let your baby sleep on the couch next to you while you’re right beside them then this is fine but not for overnight for sure!

We use it on our couch as a place to change the baby downstairs... not for sleeping though

Absolutely not safe for sleeping. Reason why there it’s no research is cause they are not tested nor passed any safe sleeping standards.

I had one for baby to nap or lay in while I was there supervising. No overnight sleep.

They are just for baby to lounge in. Absolutely no sleeping. I wouldn’t spend much on one if you decide to get one.
