Is 16 too young to consent?

In the UK the age of consent is 16 and personally I think it’s too young. I had sex at 16 and looking back, I was nowhere near ready emotionally. I think it should be 18.

I don’t think it’s too young. I had sex at 15 and I’ve now been married to that man for almost 12 years. I feel like some people are more mature than others at that age. But I think 16 is the perfect age of consent.

Nope. I waited until 18 to have sex. But a 16 year old or a 17 year old is capable of making there own decision to have sex if they think they are ready.

They shouldn’t be able to consent to anyone 18 or older I can understand with another 16yr old or 17yr old but an adult no. I had sex at 18 own personal choice I don’t regret it.
