Medical Billing Question

I had surgery back in November 2019 and paid my surgeon's office $800 on 11/06/2019 the final amount due for my out-of-pocket. I have a high deductible family plan (myself and 3 children) and how it works is, the first person to meet the deductible has the benefit that it also meets the out-of-pocket. Which means there is no coinsurance for that 1 person. Once the deductible is met everything for that 1 person is paid at 100% but the others on the plan pay the coinsurance until the out-of-pocket is met. I hope that makes sense.

Anyway, the surgeon's office never reported me paying this amount to them. I paid 2 weeks prior to surgery. Nor did they report it on their claim for my surgery day 11/20/2019. So in turn (I had a few more doctor's visits before the year was over) I am being billed from other doctor's offices for amounts that equal up to the $800 I paid in early November.

My question is, do I have the right to request a refund of that money? I'm working with my insurance company and was advised to send in all documentation to them regarding my claims and it's taking me awhile to gather it all because I'm sending copies of bank statements and emails. As well as all EOB claims from 11/06/2019-12/31/2019

Thanks for any advice y'all can give.
