Recurring Abscess (Same Location)

Maya

Hello!

I mad an abscess for the first time in my life in January, and I had to have it lanced (most painful thing I’ve ever experienced). The doctors told me that usually it’s solved by lancing and I wouldn’t get another one, but I have developed two more in the same location on different occasions (every month). They were solved with antibiotics, but I was told that I might need surgery because of a pocket of pus that might’ve developed under the skin. However, the consultation for the possible surgery has been postponed because of COVID-19. I have been experiencing some pain where the scar is located, is this normal? Also, has anyone else had this same experience and how was it resolved (if possible)?

Side note, ever since I developed the initial abscess I have been very clean (showering 2x a day and wearing clean, fresh clothes), and I do not have any medical issues such as diabetes or MRSA that could cause abscesses. Also, the abscess was on my butt if that’s relevant!

Thanks for any help/advice/support!! 💕
