Ibuprofen limit?

Question

I took an 800mg ibuprofen at Noon and went to the store and got a bottle of 200mg ibuprofen. 
Is it safe to take one if the 200mg ones now (it's 6pm) and another around midnight? 
My jaw is so swollen I can't eat but my bf is worried I'll take too much meds
Also will it mess with my birth control if I take it for a few days& is it safe to take melatonin (6mg) at night with it
Edit: It's my wisdom tooth and idk when I'll see a dentist

Is the pain from an abscess tooth or just from your jaw? 
If it's from your teeth put honey on your gums it will help reduce the swelling from infection.
Also for pain and inflammation you can alternate tylenol and ibuprofen every 2 hours as long as its not a long term solution. I take 2 extra strength tylenol or ibuprofen when I take them. They will make you drowsy but take away the pain.
Tylenol is for pain.
Ibuprofen is for inflammation.

Rule of thumb with ibuprofen is 1 hour between doses for every 100mg you take - so you can take 600mg every 6 hours or 800mg every 8 hours. Anything less than 600mg is likely not a therapeutic dose for most people. Always take it with food so it doesn’t irritate your stomach.

Go ahead and take the ibuprofen but I wouldn't do the melatonin. Or just skip the ibuprofen try an ice/heat pack for the swelling.
