Pregnancy rant for the day:
Please stop telling pregnant women to not worry or care if they have a baby bump or not. While it’s encouraging, it’s also annoying. As pregnant women we not only want to feel the effects of being pregnant, we want to visibly look pregnant. Not popping until late in the pregnancy may not have bothered you, but it does some women such as myself. We would love to see that progress of a growing belly and a life that we are housing in our womb, so our feelings of disappointment at the progress are valid. Be considerate with your words and try to understand that every woman views their pregnancy in a different way. You may have not cared for your barely noticeable belly throughout the 2nd trimester but others do care and it bothers them to know that they may not show as soon as they thought. What I wanted more in the pregnancy besides my baby was to share the experience with everyone else and show case my bump so light hearted conversations would take place about him because my baby is a blessing both inside the womb and out, it upsets me that I look bloated and like I’m on my period rather than sporting a visible bump. It upsets me that I can still see my feet, it upsets me that I am not struggling with the belly problems, it upsets me that my husband can’t feel the life he made like I can. Our feelings may seem dumb but they are still valid. Please be kind when entering a conversation where an expecting mother is disappointed at the progress. We’re only human ❤️
