Heavy periods

Ladies, I have tiny fibroids and 6 kids. I tied my tubes with my last baby, but my periods are so heavy I bleed through the thickest pad and that’s changing every 30 min . My doctor recommended shaving my cervix that way I won’t have heavy periods . I have high blood pressure so I can’t do birth control pills or any birth method. Has anyone got this done before ? I’m just scared it will take from my sexual desire and have no feeling to have sex.
