Homeschooling my niece

When schools decided to remain closed through the end of the year I started to homeschool my niece (she will be 5 in August). Today I made her lunch and put out 3 of her orange slices and 5 green beans on a different plate and had her tell me how many there were without counting them individually. As soon as I asked her she started to curl up, get nervous and doubt herself a lot. She kept insisting she couldn’t do it and then asked if she could just count them. I encouraged her to just try and then we could count them individually afterwards. She ended up getting BOTH RIGHT. I’m so so so proud of her for trying even though she was so sure she couldn’t do it. I’ve loved being able to have this experience with her and it’s made me really hope my fiancé & and I get pregnant soon (We had decided to start trying this year) so I can experience helping our littles learn and grow as well🥰
